About Roadhouse Magazine
Roadhouse Magazine is a space for Chicago’s DIY music and art scene to come together. We feature reviews of local musicians, upcoming bands and albums, and showcase other creative work like photography and poetry from Chicago musicians within our physical print magazine. Our goal is to give artists, fans, and everyone in between a platform to discover, share, and celebrate the work happening in our city.
Chicago’s DIY scene is constantly evolving but much of it lives only on social media feeds, small venues, or through word of mouth. Artists often struggle to get consistent coverage and print publications focused on local scenes are rare. Roadhouse fills that gap by documenting emerging talent through photography, interviews, live sessions, and thoughtful editorial storytelling. Each issue is both a record of the scene and a designed artifact that reflects our visual identity while staying true to the spirit of Chicago DIY culture.
Roadhouse is fully independent. Donations go directly toward keeping the website online, paying our contributors fairly, and printing each new issue. Every contribution helps us continue documenting Chicago’s evolving DIY scene.
Roadhouse Magazine is independently funded. No corporate backing, just community support.
