In the Moment: Lake Street Dive at Salt Shed

Lake Street Dive brought their signature jazzy vibes to the Salt Shed on September 26th, transforming the unique outdoor venue into a soulful playground for the night.

As the crisp autumn air settled over Chicago, the band’s blend of jazz, soul, and pop lit up the stage, with vocalist Rachael Price’s powerhouse voice flowing effortlessly over the dynamic instrumentals.

The venue’s open-air setup felt like the perfect complement to the band’s organic, free-spirited sound, letting the music drift through the night sky.

The energy of the band was contagious, with upbeat rhythms and funky basslines carrying the crowd from one song to the next. Each member of Lake Street Dive brought their A-game, showcasing their impeccable talents.

Pianist and singer Akie Bermiss captured the essence of the night when he teased the crowd with, “You don’t know what’s coming, but it’ll knock your socks off.” Sure enough, the band continuously kept the audience in awe, from stunning vocal harmonies to virtuosic solos that left everyone cheering.

As the night progressed, it became clear Lake Street Dive wasn’t just doing a performing; they were creating a musical experience that felt both intimate and electrifying.

The chemistry between the band members, paired with their playful stage presence, drew the audience in, making the Salt Shed feel like a private concert hall rather than a large outdoor venue. It was a performance that left the audience energized, grooving, and fully captivated until the very last note.

If you have a chance to see Lake Street Dive at Salt Shed this December 30th or 31st, I highly recommend grabbing a ticket. Their live show will sweep you off your feet and keep you buzzing well into the new year. There’s no better way to kick off 2025 than with the incredible energy, feel-good vibes, and infectious jazz that only Lake Street Dive can deliver.
